The short version: keep it honest, and nobody gets to abuse anybody.

The licence

Your use of KEPT is governed by Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. These terms add to it. Where the two disagree, Apple's agreement wins.

What KEPT is, and is not

KEPT records what you said you would do and what you proved. It is not a medical device, not a health service, and not advice.

A Word ends one of four ways. Verified — Apple Health, KEPT's timer or a live photo, judged by KEPT Eye. Declared — kept on your word, said as such. Not kept. Legacy kept — a day carried over from the older app, never re-judged. The app never calls a Word Verified when it was not.

KEPT Eye reads your Word to say how it can be verified, and judges your proof. KEPT's server (Google Cloud, Zurich) receives your Word and your proof, and passes them to Anthropic's model (United States or another country), which reads them. A timer's run is checked by KEPT's server alone. See the privacy policy. A model can be wrong. When it says no or cannot see, you can retake the proof, keep the Word on your word, or close it. A signed Word cannot be edited or deleted one by one.

Our Trust: what you may share, and the rules

You can invite one person per link as a witness. They see the Words you chose to share: your first name, the words, the hour, how it ended, and after a kept proof its summary and photo. They can mark WITNESSED and SEEN. There is no public feed and no discovery. What you share lives in your own iCloud and is shared through Apple's iCloud sharing.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour in Our Trust. You may not share content that is unlawful, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing or threatening, or that depicts or targets another person without their consent. By using Our Trust you agree to these rules.

Report. A witness can report a shared Word from its ⋯ menu. The author leaves the reporter's screen at once, and a report e-mail to hello@ikept.org is prepared, which the reporter sends. We read every report.
Hide, leave, block, remove. A witness can hide an author, leave, or block them; an author can remove a witness. Leaving or removal takes access to every shared Word with it. A blocked author's new link joins nothing.
Consequences. Where a report shows a breach of these terms, we ask the person to remove the content, and we stop providing Our Trust to anyone who shares objectionable content or abuses another person, by every means available to us, including reporting the account to Apple. Because shared Words live in the author's own iCloud, the fastest way to stop seeing them is in your hands: hide, leave or remove.

Subscriptions

KEPT is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the App Store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least a day before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.

Purchases made in a TestFlight build are test purchases; Apple does not charge them.

Month on us. When six Weeks of yours have been received by KEPT's server and you hold a plan, the next month is on us: Apple moves your next charge, or you confirm a one-tap offer yourself. The app never buys, subscribes or charges on its own. Without a plan, the Month is held for you.

Availability

KEPT is a young app made by one person. This is a test build: it may change, break, or be interrupted, and a future build may not carry everything over. We do not promise it will be free of defects, and we are not liable for what you did or did not do in the world outside the app.

Law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Where you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protections of the law of your country of residence.
